I love the heavy contouring, big lashes, and a defined eye that were happening here. Also this look was practically a throw back to her iconic Versace dress from the 2000 Grammys. Leave it to Jennifer Lopez to have a throwback reference to herself in her own video right? So if you want to learn how to get this look and aren't afraid of a lot of makeup then keep reading!
My model for this makeup look is Lupe (Check out her youtube beauty channel here) she was a natural choice for this because the best way to describe her is abandoned at birth and raised by a pack of drag queens, so glammed out makeup was right up her alley. We started out by priming Lupe's eye lids with the Jane Eye Primer, it's important to use an eye primer with very shimmery affordable eyeshadows like the ones today because it will keep them on all day. Next we used a shader brush to apply Rimmel's Scandaleyes Liquid Shadow in Chestnut Taupe from lash line to crease and blended the edges. Then I used the same shader brush to pack on the 2nd shadow in the 1st row from the Bh Cosmetics Smokey Eyes-28 Color Shadow Palette. This glittery light gold color is almost identical to the one J.Lo has on her lids in this video. I defined Lupe's crease with two matte brown shadows from the Bh Cosmetics 26 Shadow Blush Combo Palette and blended out those browns with the cream colored blush that is placed 1st on the last row of that palette. To highlight Lupe's browbone and finish off the shimmery top lid from the video I used my Bh Cosmetics Party Girl Palette and mixed both the 8th and 9th shade from the first row to create the perfect shimmery champagne highlight. Lashes were next so I curled her lashes and applied a light coat of Loreal Voluminous Mascara in Noir, and then I glued a dramatic pair of fake lashes on. The style of lash I used were the Kiss Premium Lashes-Style 05. With the eyes mostly done we moved on to base. I prepped her face with the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Skin Lighting Liquid in Starlight, I know I'm cheating a bit here but I had just bought this primer from my favorite salon Haus Of Heir, and I couldn't help but use it. It created the perfect shimmering base to create that classic J.Lo glow. For foundation today we were going to nothing short of FULL COVERAGE so Revlon Color Stay in Natural Beige was a great choice. This makeup look was not shy with the contouring so I used the Fit Me Concealer in Fair to highlight anything I wanted to bring out, like the under eye areas and cheekbones, center of the nose, forehead, and chin. Then to contour I used the Fit Me Concealer in Deep with a pointed foundation brush I swept this under the cheekbones, temples, and hairline. Once the highlights and contours were placed I blended them with a buffing foundation brush so they defined her face seamlessly. I set her face with the NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder in Naturally Beige and set and deepened her contour with darker of the two colors from the Milani All XL All Over Glow in Fake Tan. I used the Kevyn Aucoin highlighter again on the cheekbones for a highlight, then on the cheeks used the NYX blush in Summer Peach and then created even more glow by highlighting all over the cheekbones with the Milani Baked Bronzer in-Glow. After finishing the face we continued to lips where I used the NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Neutral Pink to define her lips and then over that I placed the Wet and Wild Mega Last Lipcolor in Just Peachy. To finish off Lupe's lip I placed the smallest bit of Revlon's lipgloss in Sizzle Canicule, blending this bright orange gloss with a lip brush changed the lip color to the perfect peachy nude that was identical to the one J.Lo wore. With most of the face done it was time for finishing touches, my model already had beautiful brows so a quick swipe of the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Black defined her browns and with a pencil brush I defined the lower lash line with the same matte brown shadows I used in the crease. And there you have it! My J.Lo look from one of my favorite music videos, I hope this helps you find some hidden gems at your local drug store beauty section so you can recreate this glamorous look for you next night out, or trip to the grocery store, do you girl!
