Black and White Tuxedo Jacket

Spring time has been here for a while and I know what you are thinking. "Javier spring is here and I still want to give Dynasty's Alexis Carrington 80's realness but I'm not sure how to rock a blazer in spring."

Well luck for you I pretty much know everything so you came to the right place. Who doesn't like to evoke their favorite cheesy 80s soap opera "Bad B" when they are out with their girls at the club right? I love a black and white blazer moment, and after watching some Dynasty this weekend I realized I have three weaknesses (add them to the list right?). Color blocking, shoulder pads, and menswear pieces for women. Seriously why didn't I live in the 80s? After scouring the net like I always do I found these pieces to bring out your inner Dynasty diva this spring. The first two pieces are this beautiful Michael Kors and Narciso Rodriquez blazer.

Michael Kors two tone crepe blazer - $2085
Narciso Rodriguez contrast lapel wool blazer - $2195

I love the Michael Kors one because it looks so much like a tuxedo jacket, and the Narciso Rodriquez one is so minimalistic and sleek. Sort of like an abstract version of a black and white mens tuxedo jacket. Now these are both super pricey so here are my more affordable versions for you.

Walter white and black single button blazer - $130
Missguided monochome cropped blazer - $30

The first one, which is a Walter blazer is very similar to the Michael Kors one just with a thicker lapel which gives a bolder look. The second one is a bit more of a cropped blazer like the Narciso Rodriguez one and has a more round shaped lapel. The best part about these both is the price! The Walter blazer is $130 and the Missguided blazer is on sale for $30, insane! Like seriously go out and buy this now! White is a great color for a blazer in spring, it can be formal or more casual but since its not all black it keeps things from looking too heavy and out of season. All of these blazers would look great with a number of outfits. Amazing over a black jumpsuit (yea I know back to jumpsuits). Also with black coated denim, a t shirt, and pointy black heels for a more effortless look. If you were feeling more risque I think it would pair great with a black pencil skirt, cropped top, and some pumps. So feel free to bring your inner diva out in any of these blazers. Also if you haven't watched dynasty check out this epic clip of Alexis Carrington and Dominique Deveruax, the biggest divas in history, and watch the SHADEFEST UNFOLD.

Did you feel that arctic breeze girl? So cold, so fierce, so YAS. P.S. this is also a great tutorial if you STILL don't know how to properly shade a peasant. It's how I learned and I can practically add "Shady like a palm tree" under my special skill section of my resume at this point.
